CMS and ONC Meaningful Use Final Rules Now on Public Inspection Desk
On August 23, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and HHS Office of the National Coordinator for HIT (ONC) released the latest final rules to update the user and technology requirements for the Medicare/Medicaid EHR Incentive Program (“meaningful use”). Both final rules will be published in the Federal Register on September 4, 2012.
American College of Radiology regulatory affairs staff are currently reviewing the details of both pre-publication final rules. There are approximately 1150 combined pages of text to review, so it will take time to digest, analyze, and appropriately summarize for the radiology community.
