Administrative Corrections to the CMS Stage 2 MU NPRM; HIT Standards Committee Schedule

On April 18, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) published a Federal Register notice containing several corrections related to the March 7 Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM or “proposed rule”) on Stage 2 of the EHR Incentive Program.   Those planning to comment on the CMS NPRM should take into consideration the administrative corrections made by this notice.

Also on April 18, the HHS Office of the National Coordinator for HIT (ONC) published the HIT Standards Committee’s (HITSC) schedule for assessment of the HIT Policy Committee’s recommendations.  Notice of the schedule is mandated by language in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  Although this is hardly new information, the text mentions that “radiology” standards are scheduled for discussion by the HITSC later this year.
